From Post-Harvest Pain Points to Trusted Global Trade
Walking into Gulfood 2026 in Dubai felt like stepping into the command centre of the global food
economy. Spread across two mega venues and hosting thousands of exhibitors, Gulfood brought
together producers, buyers, policymakers, and innovators who collectively shape how food moves
across borders. For the RootsGoods team, this was not just an exhibition but it was a reality check on
how urgently the world is seeking trust, transparency, and efficiency in agri-food supply chains.
India’s presence as the Official Partner Country, led by APEDA, sent a powerful signal for the
collaborators with startups like us from the side of policy. Conversations across halls consistently
reflected the growing momentum of India and UAE collaboration under Comprehensive Economic
Partnership Agreement (CEPA), especially around food security, quality assurance, and digital trade
infrastructure. From grain traders and processors to warehouse owners, logistics providers, and
government bodies and from Dubai chambers we heard one recurring question:
“How do we reduce post-harvest losses, verify quality in real time, and move commodities faster
with confidence?”
At RootsGoods, our answer lies at the intersection of bioinformatics, AI, and on-ground execution.
During Gulfood, we showcased how our Agentic-SaaS platform transforms post-harvest operations
starting from crop intelligence and quality assessment to digital certification, logistics orchestration,
and instant payments. Our work in maize resonated strongly, where we demonstrated measurable
impact: reducing post-harvest losses from 22% to 5% and potential to lower the carbon emissions
from 30% to 6% by making quality data actionable, verifiable, and trade-ready. Further challenges to
monitoring the organic matter in the soil was also part of the discussion with the visitors.
Additionally, what stood out most was the alignment between innovation and policy. Discussions
around climate-smart agriculture, food resilience, and cyber-secure supply chains made one thing
clear: digital quality infrastructure is no longer optional. It is becoming the baseline for trusted global
trade. Governments, investors, and enterprises are now looking for solutions that can scale
responsibly without losing farmer trust at the grassroots.
We return to India from Gulfood 2026 with renewed conviction, meaningful partnerships across the
UAE and beyond, and a sharper roadmap for pilots, integrations, and scale. If you are a buyer, brand,
investor, or government partner looking to strengthen food quality, reduce losses, and build resilient
supply chains, we would love to collaborate.
Together, let’s build the future of trusted agri-trade from farmgate to global shelves.
